Gerald "Jock" Matthews was born in Q3-1921 [Newmarket 3b:814], to Maurice and Blanche MATTHEWS (née EVANS) of 61 St Philips Road, Newmarket.
Before mobilization he had been working for Hammond's Rutland Motors.

In the 1939 register, at 61 St.Philips Road,Newmarket were his father Maurice [14-12-1880] stableman, mother Blanche [22-3-1888] and lodger Charles H JONES, stableman. There are 3 closed records.



Gerald was killed in a motor accident in Italy.
